Etio Health Consumer Health Data Policy
Who this covers
This policy explains how Etio Health handles consumer health data under Washington's My Health My Data Act, Nevada's consumer health data law (SB 370), Connecticut's data privacy law, and, from January 1, 2028, Vermont's Data Privacy and Online Surveillance Act. It applies if you live in one of those states, or your data is collected while you are there. It adds to our main Privacy Policy, which applies to everyone.
Consumer health data means information that is linked or reasonably linkable to you and describes your past, present, or future physical or mental health.
Health data we collect, and why
We collect only what is needed to provide the features you choose to use. Most of it never leaves your phone.
| Category | Examples | Why | Where it stays |
|---|---|---|---|
| Questionnaire answers | Symptoms, history, areas you flagged, what you have tried, including answers about your menstrual cycle and plans to conceive | To give you results and a code to share with a practitioner | On our servers under your code, once you finish |
| Results and scores | Inferences about your health: the patterns your answers point to, and points worked out on your phone from your tracking | To show your results and keep them current | On our servers under your code |
| Lab values | The numbers you enter, such as TSH or ferritin | To share with a practitioner and write a general lab summary | On our servers under your code, once you tap "Save and summarize my labs" |
| Daily tracking | Energy and stress ratings, triggers, flares, What I'm trying | To show your own patterns | On your phone only |
| Cycle dates | The date each period started, if you turn this on | To compare your energy and flares across your cycle | On your phone only |
We don't collect precise location, biometric data, your name, or contact details. No third party collects your health data through Etio Health, over time or across other websites or apps.
Where it comes from
All of it comes from you, in the app. Your results and updated scores are worked out from what you entered. We don't buy health data or get it from anyone else.
Who we share it with
We never sell consumer health data, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only in these cases:
| Who | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Anyone you give your code to, usually a practitioner who uses Etio | Your questionnaire answers, results, and any labs you saved | You choose to share your results with them |
| Anthropic (Claude), our AI service | Lab names and numbers only, after you agree | To write your lab summary |
| Our hosting providers | Everything stored under your code | To store it for us; they may not use it for anything else |
We have no affiliates that receive this data. We don't record who loads a code. If a practitioner saved your results as a case in Etio, the case keeps your code, so we can find it and tell you which practice saved it. You can ask us for this list (see below).
Your rights, and how to use them
You have these rights over your consumer health data:
- Know and access it. Ask whether we hold health data about you and get a copy.
- Delete it. Tap Delete all my data in the app to delete everything on your phone and your results under your code on our servers at once, or email us. We also make sure our hosting providers delete it. If a practitioner saved your results as a case in Etio, we will tell that practitioner about your request and remove your code from their case. Their saved record is part of their own records, under their professional duties.
- Withdraw consent. Stop at any time by deleting your data and not sending anything more. Withdrawing doesn't affect what was shared before.
- See who it was shared with. Ask for the list of the third parties we shared your data with: our service providers, and any Etio practice that saved your results as a case, with a way to contact them.
- Appeal. If we turn down a request, reply to our answer within 45 days to ask us to reconsider, and we will explain our decision. If you still disagree, you can contact your state's attorney general (in Washington, at www.atg.wa.gov/file-complaint).
How to ask. Email hello@etiofm.com with your code. We don't hold your name, so the code is how we find your data. We respond within 45 days, and if we need more time, up to another 45 days, we will tell you why. Requests are free, up to twice a year. Someone you authorize can also make a request for you.
We will never treat you differently, or charge you more, for using these rights.
